The Village Between Coast and Countryside

Getting to Stubbington

By car, bus, and train connections

Stubbington is located in south Hampshire, between Fareham and the coast at Hill Head and Lee-on-the-Solent. It is accessible by car, bus, and, with a connection, by train.

By car, Stubbington is reached from the M27 motorway via Junction 9 (for the A27 toward Fareham) or Junction 11 (for the A27 from the east). From Fareham, follow signs toward Stubbington and Hill Head along the B3334 or via Peak Lane. From Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent, the approach is along Gosport Road through Peel Common. The journey from central Fareham takes around ten minutes in normal traffic; from Gosport, roughly fifteen minutes.

By bus, services connect Stubbington to Fareham bus station and to Lee-on-the-Solent and Gosport. The bus route runs through the village centre and provides a reasonable alternative to driving for local journeys.

The nearest railway station is Fareham, approximately three miles to the north-east. Fareham station is on the South Western Railway main line between Southampton and Portsmouth, with direct services to London Waterloo taking around an hour and forty minutes. From Fareham station, a bus or taxi covers the remaining distance to Stubbington in roughly ten minutes.

Southampton Airport is the nearest commercial airport, around twenty miles to the north-west, with domestic and European flights. Portsmouth International Port, serving ferries to France, Spain, and the Channel Islands, is approximately ten miles to the east.

Cyclists can reach Stubbington via relatively quiet roads from Fareham and Lee-on-the-Solent, though there are no dedicated cycle paths for the full route. The terrain is flat, making cycling practical for reasonably confident riders.
