Dog Walking in Stubbington
Where to walk your dog in the village and surrounding area
Stubbington is a good place to own a dog. The combination of woodland, coastal access, farmland paths, and quiet residential streets gives dog owners more variety than many suburban areas can offer.
Holly Hill Woodland Park is the most popular dog walking destination. The woodland trails are well suited to dogs, with space to run off-lead away from the children's play area and car park. The park is busy with dog walkers in the mornings and evenings, and it has become a social gathering point for the village's dog-owning community. Dog waste bins are provided at the main entrances and along the trails.
The coastal path at Hill Head provides an alternative route, with dogs welcome on the foreshore and along the coastal paths. During the summer months, some beach restrictions may apply at the main bathing areas, but the foreshore west of Hill Head harbour is generally open to dogs year-round.
Farmland footpaths to the west and north of the village provide longer walks through open countryside. Dogs should be kept on leads near livestock, which is present on some of the fields, particularly during lambing season.
The residential streets of Stubbington are generally pleasant for dog walking, with pavements, grass verges, and relatively low traffic on the side roads. The Stubbington Green area and recreation grounds provide open space for off-lead exercise.
Several of the village's cafes and pubs are dog-friendly, including outdoor seating areas. The Holly Hill Woodland Park cafe welcomes dogs in its outdoor area.
Veterinary practices in the Fareham and Lee-on-the-Solent area serve Stubbington residents, with services ranging from routine vaccinations to emergency care.
